Dr. Mirci moved to Alaska initially as an adventure and to experience what our beautiful state has to offer. Several years later he has practiced throughout the state, experiencing the vastly different locales, providing treatment to underserved populations. Dr. Mirci is the dentist for the Discovery Channel’s hit series Alaska Bush People and you can find him at work in a couple of episodes on TV. After traveling the state he came to love our Kenai peninsula and came home to settle down.
Dr. Mirci completed his residency at University Hospitals in Cleveland Ohio where he covered the emergency room, performed chemotherapy and radiation clearances, as well as providing dental care under general anesthesia in the operating rooms. His studies were heavily focused upon implants and treatment planning. He is currently a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and is working towards obtaining his fellowship. He received his oral sedation certification through the DOCS program and IV sedations via Rocky Mountain Sedation.
“I feel that sedation is a critical component of dentistry that is very underserved in Alaska. I have focused my attention on safe and effective sedation techniques to help patients gain access to care. I find that wisdom teeth removal is a more comfortable experience using my sedation techniques.”
